Inter-Intra Community's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Statement
At Inter-Intra Community, we believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential components of our mission to inspire incarcerated Muslims through compassionate spiritual mentoring. We strive to foster a community where everyone, regardless of background, feels valued, respected, and empowered on their journey of personal growth and connection to faith, whether behind bars or in the ‘free-world.’

Our Commitment:
Diversity: We embrace and celebrate the rich diversity of the Muslim community, recognizing the unique experiences and perspectives that each individual brings.
Equity: We actively work to dismantle systemic barriers and ensure that everyone we mentor has equitable access to the spiritual care and support they need.
Inclusion: We create an inclusive environment where all feel welcome and safe to explore their faith, connect with others, and find hope.
In alignment with our values:
Compassion: We extend our compassionate care to all individuals, recognizing the inherent worth and dignity of each person, regardless of their past or present circumstances.
Connection: We foster connections not only between incarcerated individuals and their faith but also among , their families, and the broader community.
Hope: We inspire hope by creating a space where personal growth and positive change are possible within the confines of incarceration.
Community: We build a strong and supportive community that values diversity and empowers individuals to contribute positively to society.
Faith: We meet individuals wherever they are on their faith journey, providing guidance and support with respect for their individual beliefs and practices.
We believe that by embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion, we can better fulfill our mission to provide compassionate mentoring and foster a sense of hope and belonging for all incarcerated persons. We are committed to ongoing learning and growth in our DEI efforts, continually seeking to improve our practices and create a more equitable and inclusive environment for all.
